Haye van der Meer is an educator with more than 30 years of experience. As a St. Patrick’s Research Fellow his scholarly practice is grounded in three key areas:
1: Doctoral Research: Identifying the intersections of traditional Arrernte knowledge-sharing pedagogies and contemporary Finnish educational methodologies.
2: Compassionate Teaching: Building teacher capacity through the co-authorship of The Compassionate Teacher’s Handbook, which explores practical strategies for creating calm, connected and thriving classrooms.
3: A New Paradigm for Parenting and Education: Researching, promoting and co-authoring, translating and editing of a range of books and publications in that field.
My work
First Nations Research Publications
As a Research Fellow my focus is on traditional Arrernte knowledge-sharing pedagogies. I have a particular interest in juxtaposing these with contemporary Finnish educational practices.
Parenting Books
With the late Mr Jesper Juul, I have written, edited, translated and published a series of books.
The Compassionate Teachers Handbook
The wait will soon be over. Louise Klinge, Erik Sigsgaard, Mette Thor Jorgensen and I are excited to announce that the book will be available soon.
